| Ok so has anyone ever tried this? I'm thinking about putting a few Angels in my out door pond. Everything I put out there for the summer grows to twice the size. Guppies get huge. I have a 19" pleco that is only three years old and he goes out every year and has grown huge in just the three years. Now I want to try putting the Angels out there to see how big they would get. What does everyone think of this? Yes or No? | |

| I haven't a clue but sure would like to hear of the results! Plecos seem like dinosaurs to me.. angels seem a bit more delicate.. (IMHO).. Would be a great way to grow out angels for market! | |

| Yes that's kind of what I was thinking too. They would have to be spawned in a tank because the other fish in the pond woiuld eat the eggs but the pea sized fry could go in the pond to grow out. | |

| I totally agree... i think almost any aquarium fish could be maintained in a pond within reason... ie temperatures, circulation, enough oxygen in water.... Just keep in mind in the heat of the day in dead of summer..... when water turns hot, it definitely depletes the available oxygen available in the pond unless it is deep enough to stay cool on the bottom.. | |

| nice idea! I'd also look into covering the pond in some netting to prevent birds/animals from getting to the fish. | |

| It will work and they will breed in the pond. I don't know how I know that, but I do. | |

| I think it'll work too; it'd probably be better water conditions than a tank, just because of the greater volume of water. | |
