ok so i decided to bite the bullet (the wifey gave me the ok)
i went and got a 5.5g tank(pico) and am going salt with this ish!
im going to put on top of my dresser and hope it holds(it should lol)
my plans for this pico are maybe to get a cpl sexy shrimp or maybe a shrimp and goby combo!
Equipment:
5.5g glass tank
marinland stealth 50W heater
Cheap O 20g filter
Knano (240gph)
(MAYBE going throw my HOB fuge behind it to add more water volume)

Lighting:
par38 12,000K with 60 degree optics

Other:
5lbs of LS
and 5lbs of base rock
going to put bout 2lbs of LR to seed the rocks once its wet:)

Stock:
whatever Corlz i can get
shrooms
Zoas
some acans
whatever
pope said he might have some stuff for me when tank is ready;)

CUC:
typical turbo snail
Hermits
etc

(plz excuse the smuges on the glass my doughter got her slobery hands all over the front of the tank! i cant seem to get it off! lol)

It will be roughly 50lbs, if you can sit on the dresser and not break it it will be fine.
Sounds like it will be a cool tank, I think a shrimp/goby combo would be cool......

looks like 10+ heads alko so when it starts spreading, a frag is yours! Shouldn't take long at all. Oh and once you're running I got Xenia. Dosing coralvite did not help my think out the xenia plan at all.

Hey...you can take them on your cell and upload to photobucket mobile by email directly and then get on your pc and post your pics from photobucket. I do it all the time!!!

the thing is i have a cell phone but its and old 1980's nextel Boost(for the walkie talkie)
but its a company phone! it doesnt take pix!
also my boss cuaght me on my Email and blocked it from my computer! so yea!!

G news 1st i found my usb cable! pics will be up a lil later today prolly during lunch:)
B news is the tank isnt wet yet:( everything was closed during the weekend(i wonder why! LOL)so i couldnt buy the salt mix OR any already mixed water!
but yea it will be wet later on during the week i hope!

here is the par38 in a regular ol desk lamp fixture! i already had the fix the bulb just completes it. and it fit perfectly in it!

with the lamp on and flash! lol i got a baby bottle in the pic.

its funny the camera makes the light look alot blueish purple than it it really is!

Looks good so far....are you going to add any live rock or just work with the dead rock you have?

i plan on seeding it once the tank is filled! ill buy bout 2lbs or so of LR to seed the base rock

well i went a bought a 5g water jug off some foo on cl for 2 bucks! lol
hoefully today i go to the LFS and get some NSW (natural Sea Water) to throw in the tank to start things off!
i also changed the rock scape but didnt take any pics of it! ill take some tonight and post em tommorrow to keep this thread goin

well..........THE TANKS FINALLY WET!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry for the delay! the babys been sick and so all of my time has been goin to mamas!
the tank is finally cycling as you can see in the pics! cloudy water and all! i through in some NSW to get everything goin
so far i havent checked the params. im just going to leave the tank running for bout a week or 2! im thinkin ill get a small CUC after i get some algea growth
