| on my fish only tanks i use N.O. (normal output) flourecent bulbs.
my 75 has a shop light from lowes with 2- 40watt natural sunlight bulbs made by phillips. it put off beautiful light.
on my 20 long convict tank i have the all-glass fixture that came with the tank and i use a aqua-life bulb from petsmart. it has a great spectrum of colors
on my lightly planted 10 gallon guppie tank i use N.O. flourecent with an Eclipse-natural sunlight bulb from marineland,
and on my heavily planted 55 gallon dwarf tank I use PC. its a 48" coral-life, 135 watt, and 6500k bulbs

| On my 120 i have a light made by customsealife inc. It is sopose to have 4 96 watt coral life bulbs but i only have two for now ( not alot of $$ for more bulbs). They are a 50/50 and a 10,000k. I think i am going to try the diy moon lights. That wasn't a bad idea! | |

first off please edit one of your posts because you have a double post (accidets happen), second the reason i did the diy moonlights is because i got tired of replacing teh 4 led's in my coralife fixture (i am assuming the heat from the T5 bulbs were causing the led's to fail) + they were not very bright at all (i have a 4 bulb DIY setup that is brighter than the 4 led's in my light fixture ever were) |

| ok, well if you have a lowes nearby you get one of those halloween strobe light kits (9.99 or so + tax), you can take the box apart or cut the wires from teh box, and wire in a a power supply in the 4.5 to 7 volt range. there are a total of 12 led's on the string and i made 2, one with 4 led's and one with 8 led's depending on teh look you want you can use as few as 1 led off of the string to all 12 |

haha thats exactly what I did, except I got it at Party City and it is a 48" Black Light. All I did was replace the bulb and changed out the wires to handle a higher voltage. Great investment for $20 instead of spending over $100 at PetSmart

yep, then again some people just arent diy savvy. which is why if someone is willing to pay for the supplies plus give me afew buck for labor i will make thing for them. only problem (at least in this case) is the power supplies run 23.00 + tax from radioshack and the lights are 9.99 + tax from lowes making the light 32.00 before taxes and one could order factory ones from online etailers for that (seen moonlights online for 30.00 to 50.00) |

| Holy cow!, Mine was $10 48 in black light on clearance and the aquarium bulb is $10! Super cheap, all I needed was the cords that I've already had. | |

i am reffering to commercial units selling for 30.00 to 50.00 at online e-tailers, and the power supplies from radio shack being 23.00 (however psu's are not dificult to find in yard sales, etc. for cheap the only problem nowadays if finding a yard sale, etc that has good prices in the first place ) |
