I've been searching CL forever trying to find a tank this size or larger for a decent price. I would be using the tank to keep angelfish in. I know nothing about the canister filter, would it be sufficient? He says it has a low-custom made stand. I need a tank but can wait a few more months before I absolutely have to bring one home... Any thoughts?

I'm not an expert but this is just my opinion.

I guess it would depend on the condition of the equipment.

How old is the filter? What kind of shape is it in?
How old is the tank? Any chips/scratches? Does it need a reseal?
What about the lights? Are you doing a planted tank, will that be enough light?
How old is the heater? I've been told to never trust a used heater...
Are you happy with the stand, or do you need to buy another one?

These might be a few questions you ask the seller and yourself before buying. You find that it will cost you a lot more to get it where you want.

Now that is a 100G.

That is a good deal but I have seen better. If you dont need to make a move now I would offer $150 and if you cant get it for that then just wait around. ALWAYS great deals on CL.

Funny thing is every time I look on CL for something and want to buy...nothing and then when I dont want to buy/....I see everything i want! lol! go figure.

IMO That is an excellent deal for tank, light, filter, stand, etc value alone of all is well worth more than the asking price if I had the $ I would buy your angels would love the space not sure of canister filter mentioned ad doesn't mention size. Stand appears ok.As others mentioned above it's all in what your looking for and what you need it for but $200.00 I'd be all over it.If you do get it keep the stuff you want sell the rest Good deals come and go everyday until you need it then they are nowhere in sight.Good luck.

I might pay that just for the tank and stand if they're in good shape.

I bet cost of living variations across the country play a role in how each of us evaluates non-local CL ads..

BTW, I wasn't trying to say that's not a deal. I was just trying to offer a few questions for Shea to think about before buying a tank.

I actually bought a 100G full setup yesterday for $300.

Brokeashell, thanks for mentioning the questions I should ask. I emailed him and am waiting for a response. If I like what I hear I'll go and take a look.
In my area people ask outrageous prices for their aquariums. I mean REALLY outrageous!

I was looking at this one too that I thought might be a good price... I haven't asked on this one because I'm intimidated. I don't know what an overflow, sump filtration or skimmer is. I don't think I want to go there....
