Syrus.. I've posted our chapter and the box on Craigslist 3 weeks running.. I cover 4 or 5 different communities here in Va. Each ad has to be slightly different or CL won't post it.. You can only post the same ad in one category.. For Sale or Pets... (I'm no expert so anyone feel free to correct any info I'm sharing)...
Some locales will flag your post as unacceptable, others dont! Go figure...

So here is a suggestion... Log on to Cl.. do a search for "fish".. note which listing group comes back with the most appropiate returns.. You'll get fishing boats and every thing under the sun.. but note.. what good returns come from which category.. Each city will be different in the results obtained... Some it will be pets others will be For Sale.

Here is a sample ad I'll be posting this weekend..

We are a group of fish keepers that are forming a chapter of usafishbox dot com. for (our area)... This will be a meeting place for both experts and newcomers to the hobby to come together to share your knowledge or learn something new..I guarantee you will learn something from someone or teach someone something.. Hoping to see ya soon!


I suggest that you do not post that submission but 2-3 times a month.. ya don't want to be considered a pest now do ya? Enroll others in the area to cover other cities within your area..

We here in Richmond have found our members as far away as a 2 hr drive to make our meetings.. I'm sure they too will form a local chapter targeted to their cities but that's what this whole thing is all about! Please do not do it any different.

Please make sure you use keywords at the bottom so when someone searches for fish or yellow lab or live rock....something like that. Our add will come up.

Here is an add I did. PLEASE USE THE PICS that say USAfishbox.com on them so they know where to go. YOU CAN NOT POST THE DIRECT LINK IN THE craigslist add they will flag it. Another thing to NOT DO is to post that we buy/sell and trade. Craigslist does not like that and it will be flaggged.

The add is a week old but if you go into the Pets section in Whitchta Falls and type fish tank or something that I have keyword on the add comes up #1!

I saw the ad on CL, also got a text reply to my ad from the syracuse chapter leader... I think that was you syrus. I hope that this develops into something big, we really need more local fishkeeper communication going on around here.
