i have had my african tank set up now for a little over a month...

started with 6 electric yellows

added 5 red zebras yesterday

looking for one more species in another month or so..

any suggestions????

i do want a different color fish

love the johannis and the demosanis but worried they may be too aggressive

I wouldn't try the demasoni's, you would probably regret that. Johanni's aren't too badn(in my experience). Yellow tail acei would put some blue in there and keep the tank pretty calm, red top dwarf (cynotilapia afra "chimate north") are nice, or blue socolofi. Good luck!

it's a 60g with lots of rocks and caves (will post pic later).

since this is my first african tank... i have read that overstocking can be a good thing so with that i need to over-filter...

I have two hob filters running on it... rated for a 70g and a 60g

I agree with Raschael. I have some Yellow labs, and Acei in my tank. I dont have any aggression issues with them. Their colors make for a nice contrast as well.

Have about same mixture in a 45 gallon, cobalt blue zebras make a nice addition and have about the same temperment, black shark does well (only one) and a synodonatus of some kink. Good Luck
