| Ive noticed in my 20 long that my rainbow shark and zebra danio that ive had for about 2 years now both have fin rot. and my gourami appears to have eye cloud. Soooo. I treated them with pimafix and was thinking about using melafix but idk if they need that. and I was wandering does any one else have any advice on how to get them healthy again? I really don't want them to die :( | |

| lots of water changes! 75% of the cases of those are from water quality. Stick with the melafix its good stuff and should help clear up both issues.
Check your temp as well and see if its stable and watch the tank for a while and make sure no one is getting aggressive. Those can both help start and aggravate these issues. |

| Thanks!!!!!
I know my rainbow shark and gourami had been slightly aggressive but nothing big.
How much water changed do yu think i should do? I don't want to stress out the rainbow shark. I used to have two and last time i did a water change my male rainbow shark ended up getting really frantic and just dropping dead.

| 5-10% every other day. did you check the new water vs the tank water? some times the parameters are so different that it can shock the fish. How many fish and what kind are in the 20g long? That tank is too small for the energetic danio...... |

| Oh. Alright I will definately do that! Thanks!
Yes, I had checked the new water. no change atall really. But Im not quite sure what happened to tat rainbow shark. Im new to having them. Well. Not all that new. Ive had them for about two years. but that's new to me. Lol. :)
I only have one danio, one rainbow shark, and one gourami. I thought it was big enough for the danio tho. that fish isn't even an inch long and really isn't all that energetic. but maybe i am incorrect. | |

| I believe the danios are schooling fish, if they are then that's why hes acting mellow, schooling fish tend to be quite reserved when in groups of less than 6. I would start searching craigslist for a larger tank for them.
keep us posted on how they are doing! |

| Is the just cloudy or is it bulging out. If it's bulging out it's probably popeye which is very contagouise and must be treated with Amoxicillin. The infected fish should be removed to a sick tank. Hopefully it's just cloudy. | |

| Well. All the fish seem to be doing a little better today. Hopefully theyl continue the progress. And as soon as all ar well again. I am going to go get a 50 gallon to put the Danio in And get some more. The man at the pet store had told me I could have him by himself. But I guess not. Lol. Owell. (: | |

| OH the "I know it all" store employee. Stick with the forums with people who are doing this for a hobby not a quick sale to pay the rent that month. LOL |

| If you can get wound ease that will help with the recovery after they are cured. It will take a bit of time but with the little improvement your seeing I bet they will make a full recovery! |
