It's no worst then useing bright blue and pink gravel. It's a kind of a cute idea to put African cichlids in a tank that looks salt water.

It looks like it would be hard to clean too! Eventually algae would build up in the nooks and crannies. You'd have to take the whole thing out and clean it. Ghey!
