| I have 12 main tanks that I work with, rotate 2-3 tanks per water change a weekend...which means each tanks gets a 25% water change once a month. I over-filter to ensure the fish have good water quality... The smaller tanks have priority over the larger ones because they are more sensitive to waste buildup. Some tanks don't get water changes for 2 months. My trick is that I have at least 2 filters on each tank. I leave one alone and clean one using old tank water in a bucket...bio load is always there. I'm not saying my way is perfect, but it works for me and my fish spawn like crazy... I take it as a good sign. | |

| I do my water changes in each room at the same time. My Den get all done the same day, normally takes me 5-6 hours. Guest rooms currently have the smaller tanks and it only tanks 1 hour or so. | |

| Over filtration is key!!! I do pretty drastic changes on my fry tanks, 50% or better once a week & about 25-30 % on my big boy & girl tanks every other week. I could prob do in 8 hours but I like to let them gravity drain (saves some water & my wifes plants dig it) I just work em saturday & sunday. I watch football, listen to the pod while I am doing or whatever. Thats prob why I have python accidents, huh... | |

| Buy one of those big drums that hold 100gallons+ in your garage. Put a few old bioballs for a week and itll be good. I use 5 gallons waterjugs . With this system it takes me 10 minutes to change a 55 gallon and about 2 minutes to change to a 20 gallon. | |

| I spend 2-3 hours after work on Mon, Tues & Wed and usually work in 3-4 hours on the weekend to keep up with all my tanks. I have a hose that runs out into the lawn that i use to drain/vacuum & I have a hose thats permanently connected to the faucet in the fishroom to refill with. The sink in the fishroom is the single most handy feature---so glad I have it! | |
