i just returned from a duper craigslist haul i got 1 albino bristle nose pleco 1 double tailed swordfish or sword tail and a bout 20 fancy guppy's and 10 and 20 gallon tank and a pump all for free. now what do i have to do to fresh water to make it fish safe i have 5 gallons of water from there tank and will be housing them in the 20 gallon till i fix my 72 gallon later to day

I have killed so many guppies because my water is like a 8.0 ph and its hard so its horrid for them and so forth. I would ask what yours is and if its high try to plant your tank / treat the water to bring it down ...and so on : )

Nice score! My water is hard and high ph and I have no problems keeping and breeding livebearers.
