I have a 45gal tank. I love the bubble wands but the drops of water from when the bubbles burst gets on top of the lid, runs along the lip of the tank and down the sides of the tank. Causing water marks on the outside of the tank and pooling on the stand.

Other than the obvious answer of not having bubbles.... Does anyone know how I can prevent this from happening?

thank you!

Jill

What kind of top do you have? I have always used glass tops. They seem to fit pretty tight. I also use 12" airstones in my tanks too but they are in the middle of the tank, so when the bubbles pop the water hits the center of the top and the water drips back in the tank.

You can get plexyglass cut to size at your local hardware store. Have it so it rests on the inside lip of the tank. You can have them do cute outs for any filters or heaters.

I have to think that the easiest solution to this is to just lower your water level by 1 or 2 inches.

Is the water popping to the underside of the top brace and running? If so you could simply silicone the area or the whole top. I had a 20 long that did this and fixed it that way. Lowering your water is also a good solution but maybe not to your liking. If it is running across the top and running like you mentioned you might want to check to see if your tank is level. Run a level the full length , not a 6" level on a 4' tank. You can shim to adjust the level if this is the problem with wood shim. Good luck.

unless youre using it in a sponge filter it's better if the bubble wand was switched with an air stone cuz they are more obscure. sure a wall of bubbles is gna look pretty, but i think it annoys the fish and stresses em out. the constant noise will keep them in panic mode, this is why i pity the tortured fish at a pediatricians office. *BANG**BANG**BANG* on the glass. Everyday. sad
