toxic Oxygen Bubbles in my tank Empty
PostSubject: toxic Oxygen Bubbles in my tank   toxic Oxygen Bubbles in my tank Icon_minitime8/6/2009, 2:42 pm

I went to my 60 gallon and the fish have air bubbles all over them and they are just not right. I checked my levels and they are all good. I did a 25% water change. I also removed the air stone. I looked and I could see the tiny tiny air bubbles all over in the water. Now what do I do? How long will it take for the bubbles to go away and do I put the air stone back in? Is there something else I should do? In this link it talks about fishing boats and there live wells and bait pumps but this is happening in my tank I think. http://www.oxyedge-chum.com/diffuser...en_bubbles.htm

Too many air bubbles in a tank can produce nitrogen poisoning. This can be deadly to fish. Most people have the misconception the more bubbles the better. Not true as long as the surface of the water has movement you have oxogen exchange. Stop the air bubbles for now do a 50% water change. Wait a week and do a 25% water change. This should take care of the problem. Try a smaller air bubbler later.

Hope this helps keep us posted.
