| Nice, what size is it? Do the lights heat the water? | |

| actually the lights do heat the water for the most part, I am gonna get a temp gauge to keep track of it, It is a 6 gallon tank. and so far i love it! |

| Thanks, so far the most difficult part is getting all the small bubbles out of it. it takes a while but its looking awesome as the glass clears.

| Looks nice but also looks like a pain to maintain and control temp I may be wrong so let us know how it works out. |

| they do make a small heater that you can put on the back it just kinda hangs over the edge and suction cups to the back. the lights are supposed to maintain the temp. from what I have read, however I am checking the temp on and off all day for about a week to see if a heater needs to be added then ill decide, and its also set up in a room in the front of the house that stays warm, so I am also wondering if it will stay too warm. |

| That's actually what I was concerned with due to no surface area for evaporation. |

| Only time will tell, ill see what happens through out the week in the tank and Ill go from there. Heater or not its all OK in the end. they also have a little sponge that they sell made for this tank, was like 1.50 to put over the intake to keep little inverts from getting sucked into it. |

| very cool looking! Is the lack of support under part of the tank a concern? I thought about picking up one at Petsmart today (they were on a pretty good sale, about $35 for the size you have) for my mom's office but the lack of support from that little platform freaked me out. | |

| the fluval edge is glass i think? Acrylic suppose to have the entire underneth supported but glass dont have to...Im sure the manufacturer made sure it balances just fine | |

| Unless you are going to keep it lighted 24/7, wouldn't you need a heater for nights? | |

| Nice tank Born! I plan on getting one soon, and will modify it with LED lights instead of the halogens (they use the same socket) and a 10w compact flourescent mod a friend of mine did to his Edge.
There is a tiny 5g heater sold by Hydor I believe, that will fit in the filter. I have seen other Edge owners use that, check out youtube for Edge mods.
If you want the link where you can buy the LED's that fit into the existing Edge sockets, let me know and I'll shoot it to you. | |
