So I have a 120g tall with a mix of Africans and an empty 120g long in my garage. I will be fully gutting the 120g tall and putting the majority of it into the 120g long in my garage. Then the 120g tall will be re-done as a discus tank!
I will take pics of it as I go!
Wish me luck!

The wet/dry sump will be plumbed up later, for now I am just going to slap a cascade 1200 canister on it.

see now if you were really cool, you'd take your backup return pump and use it to drain the tank with. Be sure to use a ghetto pre-filter so you don't sand up the impeller.

Well I plan on moving most of the water to the 120g long and my ghetto water change system only has a 20' hose and its looking like I would need 2 stops on the way and I only have 1 fishy trash can......

The 120g long set up only cost me $50 and 3 20g longs and a bag of fry $$$

A good 1/2 of the water is moved over and I'm now waiting on it to come to temp, the tap water was a little chilly!

The 120g long is a mess because I didn't wash the sand before putting it in..... oh well!
Tank maneuvers! DSCN4202

Time for a large latte so I can get this done tonight!

Oh and all 3 holing mchengas were very kind and spit in the bucket for me so now I need to figure out where to put all the wigglers.....

Ok the 120g long is done other than plumbing up the wet/dry filter and adding more sand and some rearranging of the rocks.

The 120g tall now has sand!

I need to locate a cheap power compact fixture for the lighting of the 120g tall. It will be planted and I am very happy with the results of the power compact lighting on my planted 90g discus tank.
