Is it possible to OD snails with calcium. I put half a cuddle bone in my trap door snail tank two days ago and now they are all acting like there going to die. Hanging half out of there shells.

Yes it is, calcium brings up the hardness in the water. Do a 50% w/c and get that cuttlefish bone out. Use a sea shell or 2 in there from now on, they dissolve slow enough to not make any drastic changes but will give the snails enough for their shells.

I did both those things and put in about 4 Indian almond leaves to level off the water paramaters. Thanks Fern.

Me too Fern. How about salt? Will that hurt them?

Oh no salt with trapdoor snails. I tried that and they died immediately.

Salt & snails seems to me like pouring salt on slugs when you were a kid. Not a good idea.

Salt hardens water anyways and that's what you are tying to fix. Ya any inverts and salt tend not to mix.

Shell, coral and limestone are all good things for a snail tank. Pretty much the stuff you would use to harden the water in an African tank will do the job nicely in a snail tank.

They are still hqnging out of there shells but when I touch them they move a little so I don't know how this will turn out. Makes me sick cause these are huge and I grew them in my pond this summer and they've been laying clusters of eggs all over the tank and they been hatching and I had hundreds of all sizes and was just starting to sell them on Ebay. Dang !!!!!!!!!!!!

I just put about 4 of them in a container with just RO water so we'll see what happens but I really think they're to far gone.

Cuttlebone is not going to cause an issue. It is highly recommened to keep some in all invert tanks. Especially with Briggs as they will rasp on it from time to time. It doesn't degrade fast enough.
