Im asking because I really dont know. It has a golden skin like what they say a female should but the face is blue-ish and so are the fins. its at least 5 in.

I am no Dovii expert but by looking at male Dovii pics and female Dovii pics I would say Female. But that is just a wild guess.

almost possitive its a male. my male looked very similar at a small size. typically a female will not have any of the blue/green hue's to it like so...

thats a male for sure. see the lines of dots above and below the lateral line? another fish that gets that on males is the grammode. called mini dovii =) another key is the dot pattern going into the fins. heres a shot of one of my males about 7 inches

Whoa that's awesome. Your setup is NICE. How many gallons?

I had mine in with a pike cichlid (not sure what kind) a Mayan cichlid and a pleco. Oh and a pictus cat. I have since moved the pictus out and gave away the other fish besides the pleco. I didn't have any real problems.

Cool would love to see. Also I am not sure what my dovii is lol. It has the spots but yours has wayyyyy more blue. Mine only has blue tinges on the edge of it's fins and some blue on the face. But nothing like yours. I since have bought two more small ones around 2-3 inches. My biggest is pushing 6. That's why I'm thinking female. Cause by that size I would think the blue would
be more pronounced. Anyway don't mean to Jack your thread. Would love to see pics when all is done.
