| First topic message reminder :Just scored a 29 g w hood, filter, heater, gravel vacuum, and extras for $25 on craigslist . Now what to put in it? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Can yellow labs or blue dolphins go in a 29? | |

| Well while you are searching for a tank look up dwarf cichlids, there are tons that look great and stay small |

| What about lelupis'? I have 3 in mine along with many other Africans and I think they are most fun to watch and only get about 4 inches | |

| I have 2 in a 55g.... and sometimes the squabbles end up with one hiding behind the filter inlet, so thats a bad idea. |

| I got a pic, but it was kinda from the top not head on and it looked taller (if that makes sense?) but i wasnt sure. Thats why i called first and asked again if it was a 29 and she said yes. | |

| just halfway across town, lol she still insisted it was a 29 after i told her it was a 10. When I got there she said it was in her trunk and i knew then it wasnt a 29g, the only car there was a Ford Focus. | |

| This time I really scored!! lol Only thing is the filter is missing the bottom piece of the of the tube that goes in the water, the part that has the grate. Is there a way to replace or rig it so it doesnt suck up the fish? | |

| get a piece of netting and use a rubber band till you get the piece for your lifter. I do this also with shrimp nets when I need a prefilter cover and don't have one. pantyhose also work. |

| Thanks, i still need to get the sand and I want to do live plants. Am i gonna need a special bulb for that? I'm gonna take my time with this one and do it right. I rushed my first one and I am lucky my fish are still alive. | |

| Look online, they are out there. Yes you need a plant bulb. If you are on a tight budget theres cheap ways to do planted tanks. |
