| Thats plenty. The Emp 400 with the 2 Bio wheels is one of the best you can get. I would put some fresh water salt in it and if you have another tank add some of that water in it for good bacteria. Cycling is a waste of time. No need to do that if you have other tank water. | |

| They have filter frames for the emperor 400's You can get the cut it yourself media and clip it in the frame. idk where you would get it though but I know it exists.
Rusty what filter are you running on your other tank? Can you pull a cartridge from it and put it in the emperor?
Yes 2 emperor 400's is perfect on a 75gal that's what I have on mine. Actually its over filtered but that is a good thing. |

| Peacocks are just like any other african cichlid they are pretty hardy and taking care of them just requires the basics. Clean good healthy water some good food and some tender love | |

| A lot of folks have problems with the pillow batting. Sometimes you can stuff it too loosely and stringies go out floating in your tank/sometimes too tight & it clogs very quickly. You also have to be very careful when you purchase it--verify that it has NO flame retardent/anti mildew chemicals mixed in with it! You can buy rolls of this material from places like Grainger.com for a fraction of what you pay at most hobby suppliers. I use it in every type/brand filter I run. A 1" thick fine pad for an xP canister costs less than 10 cents! No stuffing, chemicals or stringies to worry about. I also pick up coarse and medium foams when i can find deals on them. I haven't bought "Brand-Name" media in years. That way I can spend all my money on fish This is a set-up with medium foam+fine pad--you can vary the media depending on stocking etc... | |

| Yay a fellow Grainger person!! I'm all about using the cheaper commercial stuff. I've got several yards of septic field filter cloth that I will be experimenting with, I have it so I will try to use it for something. I will be also using a commercial linear compressor (6-7ft of head pressure) To run air throughout my house. It s a $500 piece equipment but I had it on hand, Left over from my dads old waste water business. I could run 2-3 houses full of aquariums on it |

| This is what I am talking about The only writing on it is the words 'imagine pat pend' I have no idea where you would find it but they are really handy. Just cut and clamp any filter cloth in it and your good to go. |
