I called them to find out exactly what they are. They are not true AC70's. They are a cheap Asian knockoff. Exactly what the sales guy said. They don't come with the biomax as the Aquaclears do but look the same. Also they don't come in a box. Strange I thought but they come inside a bag

They came in a card board box with a picture of ac70 up front came with the filter sponge carbon and 2 intakes just missing the biomax. If these are knockoff they're pretty good looking knockoff for 20 bucks its a steal.

China ones arent too good.

same site i bought the filter for my project 90 from, they are fast about getting the stuff shipped, however they do ship ground and that takes awhile to go from illinois to az LOL

They are made by Hagen and they do have the Aqua Clear Brand on them.

I spoke with Big Als and they said they are made in China and are a knockoff of the AC70. A very good copy as he said but still not the real thing.

Ain't everything made in China nowadays???

For $20 it's a good deal, with the coupon it's only $18... compared to the real thing which people charge upward to $60.

I bought two and BOTH were REAL AC70s with all the regular media that they come with. Not sure if they ran out of the knock-offs and just wanted to be sure and fill my order or what, but they say Aquaclear 70 on them and everything!
