10GAL WALL

FIRST TIMER ON MAKING A DIY ANYTHING FOR FISH. I HOPE I DON'T SCREW IT UP

no such thing as a DIY screw up... whatever it is you think you messed up on...you just say you did THAT on purpose.

THE START OF THE BUILD IS WITH THE TANK

THEN I STARTED OUT WITH SOME FOAM I FOUND AROUND THE HOUSE. AND I HAD TO TURN IT INTO SOMETHING THAT LOOKED LIKE A ROCK.

AT THE END I DIDN'T THINK I LOOKED SO BAD SO I RAN I WITH IT




THEN I WAS ON MY WAY

IT ONLY TOOK ME ALL DAY!!! BUT I DID IT.

IT TURNED WHITE ON ME

AND NOW IT WAIT TIME TELL LATER.

nice way to use the existing foam packing around the house to make your tank look good, i really like the shapes that came out, good job

id do one on my 55 but i dont have enough depth in my tank... only thirteen inches. doing a background in there would mean that i couldnt put any real rocks in there and have enough space for the fish to swim around

ON THIS ROCK WALL THAT IM MAKING I TRIED TO KEEP IT FAT TOWARDS THE TOP OF THE TANK AND SKINNY TOWARDS THE BOTTOM SO THE FISH COULD STILL SWIM AROUND. AND IM ONLY GOING TO BE PUTTING LITTLE TINY FISH IN THERE. HOPEFULLY THERE WONT BE ANY FIGHTING GOING ON.

I would highly suggest coating it with fish safe epoxy of some sort. Some cements are not fish safe and all of them will alter your PH a whole bunch.
Other than that it looks very good!

what kind of epoxy is fish safe?

Um... Not sure, I've never done anything that required coating. Gel coat made for boats comes to mind, just be careful lots of them have anti barnacle stuff in them.

I think if you do a little bit of research you should find several types of paint/coatings that are fine to use in the tank.

Well done. I want to see more. I always thought that would be cool. My buddy Dave A has some small ones in his wall. Looks reall good.

WELL IS SAT, SO IT WAS MY DAY OFF AND I WAS ABLE TO DO MORE WORK ON MY 10GAL ROCK WALL. FIRST I NEEDED ADD A LITTLE COLOR TO "ROCKS" THEY WERE A LITTLE TOO WHITE.
