new project New_ta13

front view the tank has a built in filter system at the back, parts are missing just not sure what

new project New_ta15

shows a bit of the area for the built in filtration once i get it cleaned up try to show more of it and any help as to what is missing would be appritated or would it be simpler just to switch to a canister filter?

can we say lots of vineagar unless someone has an easier way of removing the hard water buildup, its a bit bad on the inside of the tank.

It will dissolve in the water within a few weeks if you don't want to mess with it.
Is the tank glass or acrylic?
If its glass take a razor blade to it, just be careful of the seams.

its not class, so i do believe its acrylic, it was a custom tank at some point i believe. got most of the gunk of the outside of the tank.

Looks like it may have been a salt tank, I would just leave it and let it dissolve in the water. That's what I am planning on doing with my 240g, it was a salt, I just don't feel like messing with it and adding more scratches.

this was a cichlid tank, tucson just has really hard water and makes it nasty if you don't take care of it on a constant basis.

Well then vinegar and a very soft rag. Acrylic scratches very easily.

new project 858205 and rinse the cloth constantly so the gunk you get on there doesn't scratch the acrylic.

make sure you rinse the tank extremely well. any grit left when you rub the sides will definitely scratch the surface. Good Luck.

trying the suggestion of letting water disolve what was built up on the insides, out side looks great, someone had a sticker on one side, going to get an adhesive remover and clean that off. its holding water and in place in the house. finally that one wall of the living room doesn't look bare.

You may want to gently rub the inside with your hand to knock off any stuff that the water loosened up.
Look's good so far!

Take the tank outside and fill and then add muratic acid. Will eat deposit off. Do not let acid touch metal. Drain and wipe down rinse and tank will be like new.

I am guessing the tank is dark due to not having any lights... Just a shot in the dark though... lol

NICE TANK!

As far as the sticker residue is concerned any decent Zippo Rep. would advise using Zippo lighter fluid and a paper towel (any other lighter fluid will work, but not quite as well as Zippo fluid new project 690297 ). Works great on any adhesive residue, especially registration stickers on your windshield.
