yes not only have i heard of them but i have seen and owned one, mine was a DAS (Dutch Aquarium Systems) tank, if it has an internal filter (looks like an overflow box with a peice of modular piping coming out of it and teh tank is NOT drilled) remove it because the filters are not very good IMHO. i have heard issues of busting with das tanks but my old one was rock solid (except for the POS filter)
