| Now if they included the jellyfish and all I might consider something liek this but yeah... 350 is a bit much for what you are getting there. | |

| One of the local fish stores here in KC has some jellyfish for sale. They're only $35 a piece. Not too bad if you ask me, and they are a really unusual, neat, special fish to own. I personally think these tanks are neat. You have to keep in mind that these are specialized tanks. They're not like any other normal tank. When keeping a jellyfish it is just like keeping an Octopus. You have to have a specialized tank that is completely sealed but still has filtration that the octopus and jellyfish can't go through or get stuck in. If they dropped the tank by $100 bucks I do think it would be more worth it. | |

| The last time I saw one of the specialized jellyfish tank with "jelly fish proof filter". It was a normal tank with an under gravel filter haha. | |

As I said http://www.jellyfishfacts.net/how-to-keep-jellyfish-in-aquariums.html jellyfish need special tanks and filtration as well as proper water flow. Sounds like the tank "you" saw was pretty bootleg and I can't imagine it lived for long in a rectangular tank. I'm hoping this wasn't your Jellyfish tank.

| that same site lists another desktop tank setup for $250, if that helps persuade some of you LOL

Personally they look like kiddie tanks with UG filters. I just can't see them living long or well since their care is so specialized. These are non stinging jellies I take it? Don't they rely on plankton or colonize algae in them? idk....
I watched a documentary on the surge of giant jellies around Japan and how they found it was caused by human and some natural causes...I don't think I'm getting a jelly baby anytime soon LOL

No it was not mine lol. If you look at the picture in the link posted you will see exactly what I mean. All I see is some rocks (porous type) that are being used as filtration. Then along the right hand side of the tank they added a path for the air bubbles to escape. You can see the small air bubbles at the top of the tank. I know they are "supposed" to have many special things, point being this 'specialized' tank is nothing for then a 7 gallon bowl with an air filter and some led lights at the top. Most of the 'special' tanks being sold for for jellyfish use this same design though. Least amount of turbulence in the water and a bottom filter with minimal suction. This is another way for a company to get people to buy things in hopes that it solves all their problems. In reality the care of the jellyfish is much more difficult then housing it.

| Did you see the site's "Monaco" tank model? They list the equipment included(using Ehiem filters and pumps), which to me still doesn't sound worth the $2900 price tag: http://www.jellyfishart.com/3-Foot-Jellyfish-Tank-p/40gtk7.htm They also sell their frozen food, a 6oz supply they say lasts 6 months, for $54. It's frozen plankton and brine shrimp. | |

Just curious, are you referring to Brother's Pets? If so I saw those too! I think I stood there gazing at the tank for at least 10-15 min...no joke! they are a very interesting species...
