| I picked up some F1 Gibbs from a member here. I'm looking to add more in the future, but am curious what I should add. The ones I currently have are from Karema, everything I've read state that these are 'technically' Mpimbwe, due to coloring and collection point proximity, so importers decided to add a new name to see if it takes off. Looking at a collection point map, Karema is actually closer to Ikola. So, if you were in this situation and wanted to add some fresh genes to keep the strain pure, which would you add? Or should I keep scouring the boards, and hope someone else imports some Karema? | |

| If you got those from Raschael, those breeders are from me. Long time ago when African Diving Ltd. was still in business they are producing these different colored 'mpimbwe" called AD mpimbwe. Collectors are going to Mpimbwe but are harvesting a different colored fish. Making Ad Mpimbwe highly sought after due to it's torquoise coloration BTW Mpimbwe collection is not really Mpimbwe as it has a sandy shore. I think what they called Mpimbwe are fishes collected at Masalaba. If that does not confuse you yet lol! Each collector tries to hide the true CP from one another. So what am I blubbering about here I think Karema is the CP where AD collected what they call Mpimbwe. And the regular Mpimbwe was from Masalaba. Two different CP so different coloration. | |

| Yes, these are juvies from Raschael.
So, you have any idea if anyone is currently collecting these, so that I can introduce some new blood to the tank, without sacrificing the original coloring of the Karema?

She did catch a surprise batch, they are tiny, but in one of her grow out tanks. She also had a few 1 inchers let. I just want to bring in some new blood. I'm not looking to become a breeder, but breeding is bound to happen.[/quote I know what she has she is my wife I understand the mixing of blood lines I just need an excuse for more wild caught.

I didn't notice your location These are some great little guys, I just want to grab some more, either wild or F1s from a different group. My wife loves how they greet her in the morning, all 6 of them flock to the glass and follow her back and forth. Even as babies, they are far less skittish than my wild Burundi and fry ever were.

Having your location in your profile would help, that way people know where you are. There are plenty of breeders out there, and you might be able to find someone local to you with C. Gibbs in your area.
