| Yeah go ahead and get it if you looking to get rid of your other fish. They will make a nice snack for him. | |

| Go ahead at your own risk... but with that being said. I currently have a 14inch gator gar, with much smaller expensive tank mates, including fronts and datnoids, and he has NEVER been hostile towards any of my other fish. If your thinking about doing it, the best way is to introduce him to a tank that already has fish in it. Typically fish are to shy or are smart enough to know that they are not food. Good Luck... | |

| needle nose "gars" arent gars at all tho . judge by the shape of the mouth to see what it cant eat. deep bodied fish like tiger barbs and black skirt tetras (mature ofc!!) should be safe as should most catsfish, i would even hazard medium sized corys. the obvious no-nos are neon tetras, guppies, danios and the like. full sized needles might make a snack outta giant danio if you starve the poor thing, but needles imo are delicate and fragile and prefer easy snacks, like 1inch guppy feeders, since they are piscivores always do give quick salt baths and then quarantine the live lil guppies if store bought from a feeder tank. or to ensure purity of your feeders, harvest your own live bearer feeders in a separate tank. | |
