I'm hoping someone can tell me how to properly Vent a Frontosa in order to identify its gender. I have about an 8 inch, Front that I am trying to sex because it is not clearly a male or female to me, and I am looking to add more fronts in my tank. I currently have 3. I'm hoping someone could properly explain this process to me.

Thanks.

I'm guessing it doesn't have a big hump on it's head at 8" I would think it's a female. Do you have a picture you could post.

Good evening Folks, like I said in late winter once my season started I would dissapear, goto www.fishhead.com/articles/ventsex/htm and you will answer your question about venting, I have a 9 inch female with a hump and every body swears its a male, But to my personall info she's spwaned 3 times for me, hope the site helps every one, theres over 50 species on that site. Take close up photo of it's vent. I will try to vent it for you.

Females have rounded vents and males have a sort of tear drop vent.
The above link should help.
