3 yr olds and tanks dont mix

So, my 3 yr old decided the fish were hungry. Dumped a ton of bloodworms in the baby tank, and the 25 gallon. Ugh. I got as much as I could out with a net, and just got done with a 25% water change on the baby tank (almost 50% on the 25 gallon). Anything else I should do?

I'd do a couple more 25% changes for another day or two then wouldn't feed the fish for that time, either. That way they will eat all they can scrounge up..... If the bloodworms were live, some may have buried themselves in the gravel . They will then die and rot. So move extensive gravel vacuuming would be called for.

I wasnt planning on feeding the fish for a few days, lol. They had plenty. And it was freeze dried bloodworms, not live. I will do a couple more water changes, then. I just hope the ammonia doesnt spike too bad :(


I will need to buy more water conditioner, tho.

kids will be kids... but, i think you have it under control..

My daughter did that once and I just did gravel vacs and water changes for the next few days.
