Poor dempsys at my local store

These fish look like they are in horrible shape.

Wow they look pretty rough. I hate seeing things like that at fish stores.

I think a pair was 50 bucks. Not bad for how big they are. They were really beat up

They have no excuse for this. I don't under stand how a fish shop is allowed to sell fish and give advise to people who do not know better but yet they themselves cannot tell what fishes can be put together or not.

Dempseys are American Cichlids. Can we move this topic to the correct place?

I wonder if they were a trade in from another customer....you would think they would try to make them well before selling them either way.

I've gone to fish stores were the fish is in very bad condition skinny sunken belly or really beat up and they want $30+ for them.

i cant believe they were selling these fish, geez at least get em looking half-way presentable before to try to sell em off

To some stores it's all about the profit, another thing I hate is when they tell you what you want to hear "sure those fish will do fine together"

Charging $50 for those is ridiculous.They are very damaged.More than likely,they were dropped -off.They should be giving them away.It's bad enough to have them in your store,but tryin to get that much for'em is downright disgraceful.There is no way they paid for them,unless they're actually responsible for what happened.

The tank is disgusting and should be cleaned, then maybe they would be more happy and healthy like they deserve. It breaks my heart to see this. Wish I was nearby because I would go give them... And I would probably rescue them and try to get them back to normal.

I see stuff like this all the time at the LFS here in town. Those should be donated to a responsible owner....It looks like they have been beaten on for a while and their fins will probably never grow back to what they originally were.
