I think he is just so bored that he has figured out ways to amuse himself. He has got to be about 7 years old!
The tail standing has been in the last few months. He has developed so many quirks lately! I have almost put him in qt many many times.... I start looking at him and thinking 'ok maybe he is sick' then he swims off like all is well.

He may be getting a slight air bladder problem. The tricks tail standing and sleeping on side are signs of air bladder getting slightly larger seen in older bottom dwellers. Nothing to worry about it's just age progression of bottom dwellers. He's so cute!

90% of the time he acts like a normal cory should, That is what makes me think it is all personality. He will flap his fins till he manages to get up like that and then do a flap and balance to stay there.

I posted one a while back of him messing around, he never did a full tail stand though.

He stops being a goof and acts normal if I get too close......

RIP lil dude..... He died this morning. He was probably 6-7 years old. Got him 2 years ago from a lady that said they were 5-6 years old, so at least he was at a ripe old age......

The tail stands were very purposeful. He would flap his front fins very precisely to do the tail stands.
He had been acting old for a while though....

I know it was just old age. That's about the normal lifespan for them.
