Out of season IMG_1675_1

I'm not supposed to be dealing with these until spring but apparently my red & white and my panda moor got frisky. I found about 15ish of these little buggers hiding out today in the water sprite.

Am I shipping to GA soon?? ^_^ I'd be glad to send you one. Ever since ppl found out I'm back in E city they've been dropping fish off again. I haven't even moved back into my house yet. I got a pair of 10inch oscars a few days ago that I had to put in the soft shell enclosure we built in the den. I didn't have anything big enough for them at the rental house. Running out of room already lol

It's a 600g set up so they have enough space to stay away from each other lol. Although the turtles have grown alot since you saw them last. One is about as big as my hand now and it's only been 6months since I rescued them. They're fat as mud balls too with chub spooging out of their shells lol. The enclosure is only functional right now. I have to put down sand, drift wood plants... the whole nine yards and I still have to finish the outside casing too. I have to hang the lights too as I'm doing suspended fixtures for this one. Right now I've just got a shoddy cheap basking light bolted to the side and it looks like smashed butt lol. I'll post pics as soon as I finish it cross my heart.

It can't be any shabbier than my "indoor pond" that I had! ROFL!

I would have had it done by now but I have so many irons in the fire. Christmas, finishing the house, kids, work, blah blah blah. You know me; I'm always up to 50 things at a time "the queen of multi-tasking lol.

There wasn't a thing in the world wrong with your "indoor pond" I loved it.

I never thought that at all. I always thought it was cute and very resourceful. You always made it look so nice. Are you still thinking of doing an outdoor inground?

Yes! I just have to get some money up first, and get my FIL's permission. Getting his okay will be the hard part, I know. furious

Yeah, well, FIL thinks that my fish are a "waste of time" in his oh so humble opinion. To him, "if it ain't a dog, then it ain't a pet". He even scowls at my cats and his wife was the one who gave them to us!

Very cute little fry!

I would love to see pics of the ponds yall are discussing! Nothing too 'redneck' for me lol! Take a look at my 360g planted sump lol! https://usafishbox.forumotion.com/diy-do-it-yourself-projects-f11/240g-tank-and-sump-the-redneck-way-t2173.htm

I just looked at it, Fern! I can swear to you that it one of the coolest set-ups I have ever seen! yes I could not even begin to do something like that!!!! The sump is beautiful with all the plants and the moori are super gorgeous! My "indoor pond" was just a 150g stock tank sitting in my study with a pond filter in the middle of it. rofl However, I care more about making sure my fish are happy and healthy than it "looking great". LOL! The stock tank was cheap, so I used it.

Its based on the concept of the salt water refugium, the plants are the main filtration! I didn't think that it would turn out as well as it did but it is the most balanced system that I have! I can go a month or 2 between waterchanges on it and its just happy as can be! And that is where most all of my plants for sale come from Out of season 393849
