Here is my 37 Gallon tank which I had for about 5 months

Got it for around 60 bucks with everything in it.

The pic at the bottom is my Jewel. Now I still can't really tell the difference between a male and a female. I know Males will get Extremely red during mating but what the difference in red in a female?

Other boys or girls fish in there which I can never tell the difference between the sex

    Pleco

Very over crowded TBH... I didnt expect the Silver dollars and the Giants Denios to get so big!

And of course this: Mean ALWAYS EAT BEFORE YOU GO DIPPING WITH FISHES

nice fish... for the jewel I'd look at my videos, i have a small deep red jewel that looks way more darker and colorful, maybe that's a male and you have females? I dunno.

Yeah. I think your is a male. They have that deep bright red color with the jewels.... they just look amazing.

I got mine from a lil girl who put her in a bow of tap water. It was cute but deadly for the Jewel so i was like "no way" sorry little girl... but Iam taking ur fish... I was amazed that it even lived for about 18 hours before I brought her into my 46 gallon tank... they are some hardy beautiful fish..

Need better pic of the jewel but I'm leaning towards a male.
Just so you know you will need a 55g pretty quick to move the African rift lake cichlids into and you will probably have to re-home a few of those tropical community fish or get a larger tank for them as well.
