Last Saturday was the first day of trout fishing here in PA. Got to enjoy lots of fishing and caught my limit for the day.

Native trout are very rare anymore, but I managed to catch a native brown trout, which i threw back in like I always do with natives (only ever caught 3 in my life). Here's a picture of the little guy.

The two nice things about natives are that they are good fighters, probably twice as good as stocked trout, and that their colors are spectacular!

Natives don't ever get as big as the stocked trout. The biggest native I've ever caught was about 12 inches. I've caught stocked trout over 20 inches. Natives are so rare because they are so aggressive and when people catch them, they end up keeping them to mount or eat. If they would throw them back, our trout streams and rivers would be much more fun. And dinner was good. Trout are just a small salmon, or a salmon is a big trout....anyway, same type of fish. Very good eating!

Not recently, I do owe my dad a woods or fishing trip for his birthday. We both like to go out and get dirty and muck around where most sane people wont go crazy
