I have been using Dainichi color FX for about 6 months or so. This food is great my peacocks love it. The problem is it turns my German Red yellow orange and when I had strawberries there pigment was yellow instead of white. Has anyone else had this problem what is in these that would turn there pigment yellow. I want to use new life spectrum but I have to use the Dainichi color FX up I still have enough for another 6 months.

I want to use NLS too I just got to use this stuff up first. Do you like the results you get on NLS. I bought a orange peacock from someone that was using NLS the color is a lot brighter and pure looking not like this yellow pigment stuff I'm getting with this Dainichi

Wow Hugh change but he actually looked a bit yellow or gold in the first pic. Not as red as your avatar. I would feed that product anymore.

Most German Reds Are red orange anyway it's very hard to find a all red German Peacock. I intend to quit using it I just have a lot to use up first. It's really great food but not for reds, strawberries, and orange fish. It doesn't seem to affect my frontosa any. I have a full bag and a half to use up still.

Good afternoon folks, been gone for a while, but to your color issues with your fish, I learned this from Koi keeping for a few years now, what these folks don't tell you is that color enhancing food will burn the color on the fish especially reds and oranges, they love you to buy them and feed them every day and its easy to understand they have to make a living too, but color enhancing foods should be used only sparingly, once every two weeks or even if you are following a certain fish for a fish show coming up and so on, I keep my fish on 0 color enhancing foods and maybe once a month a few pellets go to a certain fish as I feed, as the fish grows the colors will come up by nature its in its genes, never forget that we are just trying to supplement and the foods that are prepared especially the good ones have way more that what they find in nature so taper down on color enhancing foods and watch the colors come up, have a great evening folks.
