Va Chapter meeting details

Dinner will be Chili, salad, and rolls
coffee, tea, Mountain dew and pepsi

trade auction will be taking place during the get together so no money involved in auction. Just trade. I will have a tank set up to float bags and air pump with stone to give air if needed for livestock.

we will have a donation box that if you would like to donate for T-shirts and etc for USAfishbox.com

Please list on this thread donations for auction and if you would like to donate anything to the dinner like plates, cups, dessert, or anything else.

Also you can bring family and friends so give me a total number of people coming with you.

I have a jewel cichlid if anyone is interested. He/she doesnt really do much. I think either my firemouth or red zebras are picking on it and i was just wondering if someone else would want to offer it a home where it can relax

Wow! Looks like I'll be the only person there that won't eat venison. Ick. Of course, I'm pretty much the closest thing you can get to a vegetarian without actually being a vegetarian. Only meats are pigs, chickens, and cows, and they have to be boneless and skinless. That being said I'm probably also the pickiest 28 year old on Earth. My kid's aren't as bad as me about it. Lol.

That being said, I can't wait to meet everyone! :)

Lol. Sounds exactly like my wife. Boneless chicken only. Beef sometimes but only boneless. And venison. No way. Ursula. As of now it'll be my wife and I. I'll let you know if that changes.

I hope the weather isn't like today already 2" of snow in my front yard.If we didn't have a ditch you wouldn't know where the road is! (sort of a curvy street)

Went to the library and they had older give away books. I have 1 book for young children called Plants do amazing Thing 3 gardening books for pre or early teens.3 1983 A new true books (Tropical Fish, Whales and other Sea Mammals, Animals of the sea and shore) and 1 1984 book Coral Reefs. These books are more tor kids or learning disabled adults. They will be part of the Jan 9th auction for anyone with kid. I don't have children but thought someone would like them.

Great idea. I might be able to send up some items. I have stickers coming for sure so anyone that attends the VA Chapter meeting will get one free!

Met with cichlid lover today (got a leaking 44gal hex corner tank for $15). He has offered that he is willing to do future meetings in his shop. Can discus this at our meet and greet meeting on Jan 9th. So please attend to help make future plans for the Va Chapter. I will be making fliers for his shop.

If anyone who is coming is looking for anything special let us know someone else may have it. Plants ,fish, equipment...........

I'm coming! It's official as long as I don't forget! He's going to be getting back a few days before(not allowed to reveal the offical day, though. sorry) so I'm sure things will be hectic but I've got it in my calendar. We're thinking we may come out the night before and get a hotel. Nice little road trip. Meander back and hit some historic sights on the way home. Would be awesomely fantastic. A lot will depend on whether we can get the front end of the truck rebuilt in time or not though. If we're renting a car it'll be a one day trip there and back. However, I'd love a list of places to see, aquatic or not, there in Richmond. We're into all animals, offroading(if anyone knows a place to go mudding I'm so there if the truck's with us!), EMS, historic sites of any kind, racing, pretty much anything having to do with big trucks or fast/old/muscle cars really, etc. Shops, museums, sites, and the like. Anything you locals will think is interesting. Only time I've been to Richmond during adulthood was when I missed the bypass during rush hour on a Friday around 5:30. Big mistake. I don't miss that exit anymore! Took me till almost 7 to get all the way through in a cargo van(riding out the right lane because I was loaded down and no acceleration available).

If anyone would like to come early to help I just found out my roommate will be out of town and I can use the help. Also anyone have like 4 or 6 folding chairs to bring?

I might be able to scronge some chairs (may not be folding, but i can toss them in the back of auto).

Also I am bring plenty of Floating Salvinia (small floating plant) for door prizes I have tons figure I can share it with others.

I'm looking forward to meeting you guys/gals. My family doesn't share my enthusiasm for my fish hobby... my wife actually calls it a "fish Habit". FishVixon are you PM'ing folks the address? I'll get a better idea on what I can bring in the next week or two. I have plenty of Holey rock, driftwood, 20+ brand new Aqua-clear filters sizes AC-70 and AC-110. I need to have an open house "Fish stuff sale"

I will be going shopping for the meeting tonight as my roommate is leaving tomorrow so I will not have transportation to get to a store before the meeting. I may need someone to bring salad fixings I will get dressings and cheese for it. (lettuce will go bad). Will post again after I shop to give details on what I got.

Regarding the meeting I will have a tub of used equipment, decorations and whatnots up for anyone who wants anything. Some of the items are tubing for a python, small heaters, brownish red gravel (small amt), 48" flexible bubble wand, and whatever I find to throw in.
