| There are two other variants of the Brazilian Arowana, blue and black but I do not see that much blue or black on yours.
I grew one to 28 inches 15 years ago. It jumped out of the tank. Cover the tank and put weight on it when it grows. Not even the glass tops will keep it from getting out of the tank.

| I have a heavy book on my glass tops because of my dumb gourami whose a jumper so it shouldnt be a prob. Question: are arowanas aggresive to other fish that cant fit in its mouth? | |

| it will eat anything that fits in it's mounth and moves. I've seen them kept with a bunch of blood parrots and they do not touch them. Train it to eat frozen food or Hikari massivore pellets or smelt. Stay away from feeder fish, unless you breed them yourself. I was feeding my Jardini with raw shrimp and it did not bother my breeding colony of frontosa before. Unfortunately I have to give it up since my fronts where so intimidated by it. It owned the top level of the tank. | |

| Imma feed it floating flowerhorn pellets. The arowana expert where i bought it from was feeding it that. He said dont feed it feeders because it wont eat anything else. No flakes of course lol and worms or insects or anything once a week if youd like. | |

| I have a fairly large silver aro and I have never had problems. I feed him a nice rounded diet though. He eats tubifex worms, gold fish, flakes, krill, etc. I feed him gold fish a couple times a month and a pinkie mouse once a month. They pretty much mind their own business at the top of the tank. Oh, and watch your fingers when you are feeding or any other time you put your hand in the tank. They can fit your thumb in their mouth even at that size yours is. They are amazing fish, enjoy! | |

| In certain Oriental settings any Arowana is considered good luck...In a Chinese restaurant I favor they have a 2 foot Silver in what appears to be a bow front 150 or better with a very large Oscar. | |

That explains the bluish hint on its finnage.

| CSnyder.........It has been that way for several years..........White gravel, crystal clear water with the in and out at each corner in black plastic partitions.......Somebody does a good job of maintenance......I keep thinking I will take a picture, but always forget .
There is another place that my youngest daughter likes that has a huge Koi and Goldfish tank in the foyer........This thing must be a K gallons.....
Many Oriental places seem to have really nice fish tanks..........The Tasty Wok on HY7 has a spectacular but simplistic marine set up of at least 150 gal.

| Silvers can get to 4' in captivity and 5-6' in the wild. Phil if your disappointed with him being a hybrid you could send him to me IMO he looks much prettier than a sliver..... |

| Don't say that too loud CajunGator. Someone might just hear you. I had a siver for the longest time until it died about 8 years ago. It was at least 3 feet long.
Beautiful.. | |
