| My BF gave me the old Florida room. It had never had any practical use or anything done with it. It did have 3 quality's that make it a great fish room though. 1) no a/c vents. 2) Its tiled. 3) its 4-5" lower than the rest of the house. Its a little cramped and oddly shaped but it works And it has a fair amount of window so it gets a decent amount of sunlight that I think is good for the fish. The ever present algae sucks but that's what razor blades are for |

| Thanks Nick! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one using a commercial grade air pump Cajun, You don't. Humidity just happens in fish rooms

| The small AC unit helps pull out a lot of humidity in the summer months and I have a dehumidifier that runs in the winter (and produces enough heat to keep the entire fishroom warm). If I can keep the humidity % in the mid 60's, I feel safe that i'm not growing any molds, HA! | |

| Excellent pics eveyone! Fern, I'd love to see some of your fish room-I'm always curious and eager to learn different and better ways to do things. This is the other side of what I call the 'hallway' I learned on this rack just how important it is to not get in a rush and to paint racks BEFORE you get the tanks full of fish on them HA! | |

| Nick im jealous. How many air pumps do you have running a few big ones? How many tanks in total do you have? Any show tanks inside the house? | |

| Just the one air pump you can kinda see in the top left of that last pic. I love it! Absolutely silent! About 40 or so tanks in the fishroom but a lot of them are 10s and 20s. I've only got 2 x 125s, 4 x 75s, 1 x 55, 9 x 40BRs as far as any larger tanks but I like the versatility of having more tanks vs just a few whoppers! I've only got a 72BF and a double decker with 40BRs left in the house but I don't really consider any of mine to be show tanks--they're all kinda plain-jane for easy maint. & fish snaggin' | |

| Its near impossible to catch any fish in my 75g with how heavily I have it planted.... But I do love my plants! Yes nick it is quite important to paint before the fish I just urethane all of my wood. I don't bother making it look pretty with colored paint. I have my air pump outside because I have to have a bleeder valve on it or I would blow the water right out of the tanks. Its a commercial grade one used for ATU's I forget the brand on it. But it can heavily aerate a 1,800 tank of sewage 8 ft below the pump with 6 ft of head pressure. That should give yall an idea on how much air it moves.... Its a beautiful thing I will hold off on the full room pics till after I get my next shelf built and setup with 5 more 20g longs this weekend. |

| I just wish it wasn't white tile. I'm not very neat when it comes to water changes. I will be hopefully adding another shelf to the large rack this weekend and setting up 5 more 20g longs on it. If I can find the motivation to do so...... |
