| Yikes! Yes always clean anything used. Boil, bleach, put in sun anything just clean them first. Also driftwood will effect the PH so check out anything (wood, stone, decorations, filters,.......) you're putting in your tanks, |

| Remember it's not just cleaning sometimes it's the chemical composition that leaks into the water and fry are sensitive to chemical change. For example driftwood changing the PH. It's usually slow for fish to adjust but if quick enough you can lose fish. |

| But see i dont think it affected the pH.., cuz i checked it and it was fine.., the only thing that made me think it was the driftwood was a strange brown layer all around the wood like saw dust.., and the rocks had that also.....Yes Fern i did 3 small water changes, added a sponge filter to pick up all that bad stuff left on the bottom, and after a few hours they were back to normal again... | |

| I hate losing fry. They are so sensitive. I've made it a point now to do nothing to the tank except for topping off the water when the Otos hatch.
So sry to hear about that. | |

| I didn't mean anything wrong I was just saying when something goes wrong we learn from it. I think you're doing a great job with your tanks and fish and helping others by admitting what has happened in your tanks. Keep up the great work. I was wishing you the best for your remaining fry it was not meant to be sarcastic. |
