yeah, ive noticed you on, but there used to be tons of people on a daily basis. i havnt even seen kmx on. and thats wierd.... people getting bored or something?

The topics turned from Fish to politics and drugs and it scared many folks away... In the past 2 months or so its really dropped off.

well im all fish talk here...anybody know what happen to fishvixen and fern? they use to be on here all the time

I agree, People all got turned off by all these topic which started as a healthy debate and end up a never ending argument.

I am amazed how passionate people can be in their beliefs and do not know how to channel their passion in to something worth their while.

Positive attracts Positive!!! Negative will drain your batteries!!! So why keep arguing on topics that would drag you down. I am pretty sure in some shape or form that people who engages in such debate or argument will feel it's after effect at work or at home.

Put is this way if you've spent 5 hours arguing your way into a topic you know you can never win well I got bad news for you. You could have spent that time on something else worthwhile. If you are trading your hours for $$$ like most of us people who have a job, not only did you lose your 5 hours=$$$ worth of money. You just drained your batteries and might not do anything else after that

I thought we had kids on here or teenagers at one point. Our youth! I remember a few months back there was a post on spreading the hobby and the youth was the focal point. Now those topics in the lounge pretty much told their parents this site was off limits. Would any of you want your kids reading the stuff in the lounge?? I'm still here and on many other forums. Yes it's to bad those topics were even posted. This is a fish forum not to be confused with Political debate forums. Unfortunately the damage has been done just like I had said that a whole lot of people have left here because of it. Lets stick to fish from now on.

lol, what a bummer... i havnt been in the lounge, just been on trying to start friendly conversations and getting no replys. to me thats really wierd considering i used to be on here alot and wouldnt get bored. everyone had good spirits and good intentions. now there is nobody here... freakin wierd! im big into the hobby and dont plan to change that any time soon!

as far as i know this forum was one of the places i could go to talk to people with simular interests and trade ideas and expirience. now coming back from being MIA for a few months and seeing on an average of 5 posts made to the site daily?

what can we do to bring it back together? or should we at all? kmx being the owner of the forum should be in here replying to the topic as well. maybe if we made changes to the site to help bring it back to the friendly chatting it used to be?

I've suggested openly in a thread, and directly to KMX, to leave out the lounge postings off the portal, since all the political and drugs postings we were seeing took up about 40%-50% of the portal at one time. How many of you use the portal? It's hard to miss, no?

I've told KMX that newcomers are going to see the portal since it's the second menu tab on the site, and that seeing all these non-fish topics were going to turn people off from this site, including myself. I've already started up with another forum that's more for planted tanks last month, when it started dying off here.

I've not heard from KMX directly from my PM to him, and in the thread where I've suggested this openly KMX's response to everyone who was in the thread discussing what happened, was:

"Nope never said anything like that, Do what you want.

But no reason to click on a topic if u dont like it.

There is a lounge where u can post anything u want , if people dont like what is posted they should not click on it.

It's that simple. IM not telling you that u need to click on it and read it. IM not making u do anything."

After a few other comments in that thread he locks it up. You all can see for yourself on that particular thread and judge what is going on:

Granted, I agree with where he's coming from, but putting those posts shown among the fish related posts looks as if this site isn't a fish forum afterall. Again, I've stressed this, and got no response. To me it seems as if it's a "take it or leave it" response, and quite frankly I'm inclined to leave it. I don't know how to remove myself from the forum, so if anyone knows please let me know. I want to cleanly remove my email address from the mailing list.

yeah, i saw the topic... not very friendly by any means. id love to see usa fishbox come back but if Kory isnt willing to take what people have to say into consideration then its just not going to work.

i have breifly looked at the planted site and plan to sign up, that is what ive been getting into lately anyway.

im just bummed to see the box go away. but it is what it is...

maybe things will change and the hostility will dissapate. but who knows.

im not sure how you would delete yourself, i would assume it would be done through kory. but if he is going to ignore PMs and stuff it may not happen.

I'm not sure exactly, but I believe CL posting is done mostly by us as our contribution to growing the forum base. I know I was the one doing it in Reno nv. So I'm not sure. I assume that if we are the ones Doing the posting and less of us are sticking around then less posts are being made = less exposure = less new people. I dunno, as far as I'm concerned, if nobody cares to see the forum flourish again then I don't care to help bring it back. Lol

I'm just trying to find out wether everyone else is just spoiled from the box or if everyone wants to make the impact and come back and see if the box lightens up!

Any thoughts?

I bailed for the most part when the discussion's were becoming entirely political and people were being criticized and put down for their viewpoints. The marketplace ultimately is the reason I still check in here as I was already a member on several other forums previously and spend most of my online time there now anyways.

I will be here and still post and moderate. I enjoy helping and learning.

KMX ruined the site all by himself. It's no secret, and everyone knows it.

I'm guilty of joining in on the pointless debates. Some of the comments have been absurd and I felt I should voice my disagreements. Ive tried to just stop replying and hopefully they will just stop. I too remember when this was a thriving fish forum. Its hard to have a public forum when the members aren't excited about logging on.

I agree I remember I could post something and I would have to check what someone else wrote while I was replying. Now It could be hours or days before someone replies.

I still post Ads for fishbox on Cl and renew them when I can(weekly)

see thats a real bummer... that really makes me sad to see everyone dissapointed in the CREATOR of this great idea and place for us all to come together and become a family.

to be honest it makes me wanna start my own... and that sucks cuz kory was a friend of mine and id hate to be his compitision but man... really... all of this could have very well been prevented by not being so bull headed and star struck.
