| About 3 months ago, I transferred everything from my (3 year established) 55 gallon tank to a 75 gallon. The transfer went swimmingly, but since I didn't add new gravel, there's not quite enough in the new tank. My friend gave me about 10 lbs of (new) gravel which I have rinsed thoroghly and have soaking in water mixed with a tiny bit of Prime . Is it safe to just add it to my tank all at once, or will that mess up the biological mojo it has going on? If so, what steps should I take so it wont throw anything off? THANKS! | |

| Put it in a bowl or small pithure, fill with water then sink it down gently.....Tilt the bowl up and gently pour the gravel out where you want it.......This way creates less disturbance. | |

Best way to do it. But I would also recommend to put it all in one place and then scape as you desire. It will be much easier that way instead to trying to put a little here, a little there, etc. | |

| Dont you have to boil them first? Like put in boil water, then let them sit for like 24 hours. And then you put them in by the hand full?

| Shoot each piece of gravel like a basketball and see how many 3 pointers you can make. Just kidding just rinse and put the gravel in the tank and you will be good to go. | |

| If you boil it you will lose all the beneficial bacteria just rinse in a bucket of dechlorinated water as tap water with chlorine will kill bacteria also. |
