| I just moved some of my corys from grow out tanks and noticed that a few were lacking an eye, no eye socket nothing just smooth scales! I have one that has no eyes at all. What would cause this? Tank mates are molly fry tank is a 17g plastic bin with a few sponge filters I have only moved them once by dumping the hatching tank into the bin
Getting the odd extra short cory is familiar to me but this is not! |

| His eye was eaten and there is still a socket, the fry have no eye and no eye socket, the area where the eye should be is smooth. |

| That does sound strange. I know in the Betta's if the fry's first food is nothing but microworns they will have missing or malformed ventral fins. But the fry of the cats don't feed on anything like that do they? | |

| Mine always get flake right off the bat, then when they get big enough they get pellet. I really need to try to get a pic of it, this is the first batch of fry that have had it and there were several in the batch. They kind of look like how blind cave tetras look with the total lack of one eye or both. I don't have the heart to cull them either, I may try to re home them locally, or I may set up a tank for them. |

| Sounds like you are trying to start a new strain; Corydoras cyclops albinosis. | |

| I think extra short blind corys would look great in a tank with blind cave tetras |

| You could make a mint selling them as a new breed. LOL | |

| They are very very small, they take a few weeks to start looking like fish and not gigantic sperm... Crushed flake 2-3 times a day till they get some size on them then start adding in some NLS grow works well for me, pretty much keep it to mouth size morsels of the usual cory fare. a turkey baster to clean the tank bottom up with. |
