| yes you could change it over to salt without changing alot. are you thinking fish only tank or reef tank? reef tank would require a little more to do but with a fish only (fo) tank all you would need to do is basically rinse your substrate, fill with sw and cycle it. you would need 75 lbs of live rock (could even do a mix of base(dead) and live rock. you can use normal tank lighting for fish only but would need better lighting for corals and nems. also if a reef is in the future eventually you would need a skimmer but let us know what you are thinking about and we can better assist you in your endeavors. |

| right on ilicurtis. You'll need a hydrometer to measure salt. |

| You need a bunch more.
Better lighting live rock $$$$ a good blower mabey 2 sw tester probley some stuff I have not named. I tried to do a quick sw setup and found out that for 1 you got to know what your doing and 2 your going to spend some money Don't do a 1/2 @$$ setup. Patience and a little$$ is what you need | |

| Ok Here we go with what I really would like to have I belive i have a pic of my tank up somewhere on this site so you can see what I am working with but b/c i have a canaopy on the top of my tank I would like to have to a mix some corals with fish but I do not want a full blown coral tank b/c the lighting would kill my pocket book well atleast I think it would but i do want a non agressive tank with coral that is my goal! I know what ever I do SW will cost money and I do have lots of time I just want to atleast get what I need to get started in like time lol I dont know where i will be able to put my protien skimmer b/c i have no room behind my tank b/c of the 2 emp 400's lol and the other filter. I had a 29g reef tank once but my wife killed it when I drover over the road so now I am home all the time I wont let her kill it! | |

| rusty look into T5 HO retrofit kits they will be perfect for what you want to do and you will only have to replace bulbs every 18 months unlike the power compact lighting which bulbs need replaced every 12 months. and withthe T5 HO lighting you can actually go mixed or even full blown reef |
