| I was thinking the same thing the other day. I use a 5 Gal bucket to dip it in. I do not treat the water....I figure the clhorine in the water will kill anything harmful....I have never had a problem...yet. I have not herd anyone use other technics....If anyone has a better way please inform us. Good question! | |

| Jungle brand makes a Net Soak you can buy that we use at the store. Seems to work very well. We scoop tons of fish a day and I've never seen it spread anything. | |

How many tanks do you have? I am up to 20 and between nets and water changing, does not seem feasible to keep up with, etc.

| Yeah, I stopped at 10 nets for 10 tanks. Just gets ugly.
I actually think it was an algae scrubbing pad that spread the fungus. Only lost 3 fish in 4 tanks and they were all community fish, not any of my Africans. Kids really dropped off on their cleaning duties for their tanks.
Good learning lesson for all.

| Some of the aquariums that I've purchased off craigslist has come with 1 or 2 nets. But, when I buy my nets, I get them from DrsFosterSmith.com. I have 1 net for each aquarium just for sanitation reasons. You can get nets for less then a dollar at DrsFosterSmith.com. I bought the Fine Mesh, 5" x 4" with a 10" handle.
They are .99 cents each | |

| I have 4 nets. I just don't use them often at all. If I do use them they tend to get plant bits in them and I hose them off and let them sun dry. The sun will kill nearly anything on the net. |

| I'm telling you. We take hot water and mix it with this net soak and it kills anything on the net safely and there is no worry. We put our algae scrubbers, pipe snakes, and nets in it. It works great. | |
