Convict Cichlid with blue tail??

This is really weird but my male convicts tail is turning blue. Like a darker hue of blue. At first, I thought I was tripping, but it kinda is blue! Pics will come later after superbowl, oops i meant Superbowl(has to be capitalized because its awesome)

weird but i have a Green Terror whos tips of the Dorsal fins and tail fin are white. Not the Orange that most are.

I HAVE A COLONY OF THE SAME TYPE , AND MINE HAS TURNED PURPLE AND BLACK , ITS KILLER , ALL THE LILER ONES R STILL BLUE BUT ITLL TURN PURPLE WHEN BIG

My female convicts tail is a mix of green and blue, kind of like a peacock feather, it just turned that way within the last month or so

wondering if they arent honduran red points?? i have seen some convicts with more blue than others too, could be collecting point or as said maybe red points, i have bred those many times.
joe, sounds like you have the silber saum variation rather than the gold. here is an updated artical on them, i put the thread from okaa as the conversation is easier to follow to get the general idea

I picked up one myself a little while back that shows nearly no stripes and a very light purple in the fins. Nicest( ie kind) convict (so far) I have ever seen, too.

I seriously doubt these are Honduran Red Points. I have those. HOWEVER, it would not surprise me if somewhere down the line they were crossed with Hondurans or something simliar. With the way convicts breed there is no telling.

good call there reddeadduster, i agree. convicts and red points...actually most of the genus sure are horny arent they??
