Another addition to my Breeding Journal on USAfishbox. lol.

I have been trying to breed my N. leleupi for some time now, they successfully spawned last month and I had fry swimming in the caves for 5 days before the parents made them dinner. Not sure why they decided to consume their progeny since most web pages say they they are very good parents. But I wasn't going to take chances this time around. I rearranged my tanks with slate and caves; waited patiently until I saw her guarding eggs, waited four days for the eggs to hatch into wigglers, and then took her and the fry out and placed the fry in a container with an airstone. The mother is safely back in her 20L with the rest of the group, and I'm patiently waiting for them to absorb their egg sacs and become free swimmers before putting them in a 10G to grow out.

Here's to hoping there aren't any mishaps this time around!

Thanks. She is still small at <2" so 50+ is a pretty good amount.

They might not be big enough in march...lol. It's taken them over a month to get this big. Tangs take forevvvvvvvvvvvvvvvver to grow.

I strip 15 day old fry that are bigger than these 1.5 month old leleupi fry. chin

try feeding baby brine shrimp that you hatch three time a day. You should get them to 1'1/4" in 10 weeks
