I am curious as to an observation made today in the 75 gallon angel fish tank (has three pepper cory and three small clown pleco).

I got a couple tiles from the flooring supplier (purchased a 16 x 16 x 3/4 inch floor tile and a 12 x 2 x 1/2 inch floor tile for $5.00) These weren't usable to them as they had corners broken off so I purchased them and broke them into smaller pieces to put in the fish tank.

I angled a couple pieces against rocks and laid a couple pieced on the tank gravel (parallel to the bottom of the tank). The pieces laid on the bottom were totally gravel free and today one of the pepper cory have covered over 1/2 of the tile with the aquarium gravel.

Is this a mating/nesting behavior or just a catfish playing?

This is really strange behavior to me as I didn't think catfish moved a bunch of stuff around.

I don't know about the cory's, but I like the idea of floor tile in a tank. Gonna have to convince my hubby that I need some.

Doesn't cost much. Go to Cost Less Carpet and ask if you can buy some of their broken tiles.

I got two almost whole tiles (they had broken corners) and then brought them home and broke them with a hammer into a size I wanted.
