Has anyone bred these in captivity , without hormones?

I can't find a single article on breeding these in captivity... other ssp yes, but not these.. supposedly it is done only with hormones..

I don't think it is even known how they spawn. I thought someone said these scatter eggs near mouthbrooders to have them picked up and taken care of by the cichlid, but that's another ssp.

Any info?

I have an adult pair and now one looks rather chubby and the other is following it around, nudging here and there... I hear that is spawning behavior, but then again I heard they can gorge themselves and look swollen for days...

Any ideas?
