| It sounds like one of those cheezy links that you click on and you get hacked or get a virus, but I really should have gotten pictures! I woke up and was feeding my fish tank this morning and I sit in my daughter's little wooden chair and watch as they all go and nibble as I count my fish and make sure they all made it through the night LOL I couldn't find my prized Gold Dojo Samurai Jack!!! I looked in all 6 corners, under every plant, in the skull, in back of the filter system, in back of this and that... making sure there were no new impressions in the gravel where he might have dug in... then ... I looked up to the gold mystery snail in the very top of the tank... and it had a head! It had my Gold Dojo out of the water at the very top of the tank pressed between the air, glass and pump!!! He was just sittin there sleeping or something and I started worrying because I JUST GOT HIM!!!! and I ran over and got a stick and *it was clean* pried the snail from the glass quickly... Jack flung water at me and started flying all over the tank, free at last and he started eating the food with the rest of the guys! I've had the Apple Snails eat dead fish AND live fish in the past *they can be crafty little guys* but I read that loaches have a protective slime they keep making which enables them to go into gravel without getting scratches, maybe that's how he was able to survive because the snail just kept eating that!? ALL I KNOW IS I AM HAPPY JACK IS DOING ALRIGHT SO FAR!!! I'll keep an eye on him! | |

| Yes I think your right. The snail was enjoying the slim coat. Probably wouldn't have been able to actually eat the fish but the slim is another matter. I just wonder how the fish stayed still long enough for the snail to attach to it. | |

Well, Jack likes sliming into crevices. He probably got in between the snail and the glass to see what if it was a party place. And then just got trapped because the snail is evil! | |

| WTH?!?!?! They are doing it again! But I've been watching and the snails mouth doesn't touch the loach... | |

| It looks like he's just using the snail as a hangout. I was going to say though that yes, I have had a mystery snail actually eat on a betta's tail. I think it's because bettas actually lay down to rest (as do dojos) and they get nibbled on. I don't know about your guy though! | |

| wow this is hilarious joki9! what a cool story, and that it happend a second time for you to takes pictures of is even better! I had a huge yellow snail just like that one but sadly he somehow got himself on the filter intake and killed himself. so i dont get them anymore, but they cool, very fast movers and such cool "faces". | |
