| How cute are they? How long have you had them. I hear they are very hard to keep alive. | |

Thanks:) there won't be any problems with them. the key is who you buy them from. never buy from your LFS. buy from a reputable source that farm breeds/raises them in captivity and they have already trained them to eat enhanced Mysis. the biggest issue is getting them to eat. these guy's recognize Mysis enhanced with vibrance as their food so you only feed them live food on rare occasions for your entertainment.if someone wants Sea Horses and Pipe Fish together make sure you get them from the same place so they can't be exposed to disease. this is something I have researched for a very long time and I even went to a bit of an extreme to wait nearly 8 months after the tank was up and running to finally retest all my params and place my order and before that researched everything that can go in the tank as mates. warning for anyone thinking of having them they are expensive, you will need a chiller and need to be dedicated to feeding them twice a day and fast them on the 6th day and make sure each pony gets 2-5 Mysis per meal it takes about 5 minutes or me to feed these guy's. then there's the mess they make in the tank you need lots of CUC "no hermits"and still be prepared to do weekly water changes. anyhow enough ramblng. I am in total love with them and I will do what ever necessary to insure they thrive not just survive, I have a good friend who purchased his from Ocean Rider he had them over 7 years then sold them when he got out of the hobby. another good place to buy is Sea Horse Source. oh I am planning a Kreisel tank as we speak for the fry they breed every 21 days and I don't want all of them to be fish food.

Don't fry have to be fed 4-6 times a day?

| Thanks Meredith:) I can't seem to stop watching them, I've had many reef tanks over the years with many different fish species and corals imaginable but these Seahorses take the cake it's amazing how they are so alert to everything inside and outside the tank. they don't seem to have any fear like some fish I have gotten they would hide sometimes for a week, not these guys I put my hand in and they wrap around my fingers lol if I were small enough I would go for a swim with them.... we need a giant GRIN ICON here!!! cause I'm grinning from ear to ear:) | |

| I'll chime in here That last picture, the 'face to face' one, I don't know what kind of camera you used on that but that's some 'professional quality' as they say... perfect... My local saltwater place has a 'horse tank' that reminds me of like a 'treasure chest'. It has like a golden glow to it like you'd expect to see a leprechaun go swimming across at any moment... Anyways, looks like you got your levels right :) -JT ps.. its funny I was so caught up looking at the rings around his pupils, I didnt notice his little 'frown' like you're not gonna share the 'chips a hoy's.... good stuff...... -peace.... | |

| ...his little buddy in the background's holding him back like "yo we can get cookies at the next store...chill"..... and he's like..."but I want those cookies".... haha...
All joking aside tho, I'd hang that picture on my wall.. I do like.... -peace...
