| I've been wanting to get more male bettas and have been getting setups ready for them. Of course, after buying needed supplies my local store quit selling them which is good, but a pain for me.
I'm assuming shipping runs at around $30 (it did for my chelonians) but what are good prices for the fish types/colors?
Now that the weather isn't killer hot I'm seriously considering buying some to be shipped to me. As of now I'm just looking on eBay. I don't know if I can ask this here, or if people should limit it to PM, but are there any sellers I need to be aware of due to bad experiences?
Also, back to shipping, if I were to buy multiple bettas can they be shipped together from the same seller in order to cut back on shipping cost? I'll be buying from the USA only, I don't know if buying internationally is even feasable.

| Am I able to post a sellers name on here? It would be the eBay ID.
These are the four guys I bid on-
Violet-Tri Color Halfmoon Salamander Lace Halfmoon Blue Violet Halfmoon Bi Color Black Lace Halfmoon
Two other boys tagged along, a VERY nice suprise, but I need to contact the seller yet to make sure they were intentionally sent to me.

| It takes me a while to upload because I'm on dial-up (anyone remember what THAT is??) but I'm working on getting them in Photobucket now.
I'm not the best at taking pictures either, so I'm loading the ones from eBay.
I've also been looking at setup posts on forums, and soon I hope to post some pictures of some individual 'bin' type tanks. Based on what I've seen on several sites I have some nice ideas that should work out here.

| whisper, I thought they looked nice too! All four are great so far. The last picture, he is one I really like, but my favorite of these four is the second picture. His coloring (pic doesnt do it justice) is something else- I can't stop staring at him! But, I think maybe his fins are very heavy when he moves around. | |

| Yes he looks to be much older then the others. That may be why the breeder was getting rid of him. Bettas never stop growing. Although the body stops the fins never do. As they get older the fins get bigger and heavier. I like to put a broad leaf silk plant in with them to rest on. You will see them actually laying on them and resting there fins. Usually by two years there fins will be very long and heavy. Here is a picture of one I had. He had all he could do to get off the bottom of the tank because his fins were so heavy LOL. He was a Multi Green MG HM. His dorsal fin got riped during breeding. | |

| There is a double tail Betta species. No flower though. They may be just calling it that. There is however a Rosetail. This is a DoubleTail This is a Rosetail. A Rosetail is just more ruffles on the caudal. Betta breeders have been developing elaborate Bettas for years. Especially the Asians. It's just that the public has caught on to the breed much more in resent year. I might add that this tail form ( the Rosetail) is not excepted by the IBC. It is basically just a badly formed Halfmoon caudal. | |

| I think they're very beautiful. I forgot that form of double tail. Sometime soon some mutation would create a double tail side by side like from a fantail goldfish.
here's a Tosakin Goldfish tail: http://www.freewebs.com/kitsuneblues/goldeenthetosakin.htm
I suspect the novelty of tail/fin development is eventually going to get to something like this? this would be on the extreme side.
GlassHaven: did you get your shipment of bettas? how'd they turn out?

| All these Betta pics = super addictive EYECANDY! Making me jones for another one to call my own... I miss all my Bettas that I'd had over the years, but they were just your standard, $2 Walmart type. Nothing as eye popping as some of these guys! | |

| Even some of the walmart types are beauties IMO. it's like a grab bag in each shipment; never know what is there. My office betta is from (don't smack me) Petsmart. I go there to get ghost shrimp(only place that has them regularly stocked these days) and found one I had to have. I submitted this pic for FOTM, to add some variety to the cichlid pics LOL | |

| Oooooo! He's pretty!! I was never disappointed with my WMart boys....they were beautiful to me and had that classic Betta personality that I absolutely love. Until coming to Fishbox, I didn't even KNOW about all the different types of Bettas! LOL! I really do like the looks of those halfmoons, tho! | |
