| does anyone know who i get ahold of to purchase live feeder type fish/insects, in bulk quanities, like pet stores do, i have found that feeing these to my cichlids, greatly improves their color, and makes them more active than canned pellet, mass produced food | |

| Stay away from goldfish. Comets are to much of a risk to take. Google your items and you will find businesses that sell them. | |

| MonteMike72 if you get on KCFISHCLUB.org we are bulk ordering blackworms tomorrow if your interested... Lane at Brother's pets will bulk order Ghost Shrimp and Crayfish for you if you ask him to. I also remember seeing Mesquito fish on CL recently for free. Those make great feeder fish... You can get 100's of crickets just about anywhere for cheap, you won't be saving much money bulk ordering those. Goldfish are fine to feed your fish as long as your breeding them, I wouldn't buy them from a LFS or bulk order those. | |

| hey thanks for the help i wasn't aware of that local site, i have been finding that the bait shop near jacomo lake, is a good source, although prices are average, but he does have product available year round, he also has some weird weird aquarium/bait, like a mud puppy, interesting looking at best | |

I breed comets in a 350g tote it square, I know people who breed in smaller ponds as well though... Were paying $13 a lb on the blackworms. Yes Ghost Shrimp are seasonal but when I'm talking about bulk ordering Ghost Shrimp I'm talking 1000's of ghost shrimp each box contains 2 bags and each back contains approx. 1000 ghost shrimp. That should last through the winter time.

There's a swap meet this Saturday from 11-4 in Independence... You should check it out. Our swap meets always have TONS of people and 1000's of different fish, filters, pumps... etc. Lots of friendly people and you can get to know local people!!
